On Sunday afternoon Gold FC kicked off their home campaign with style, capturing a 4-1 win over FC Davis. Gold FC started off the first half strong finding space on the wings but struggling to create meaningful service into the box, until 13' minutes on the clock when a low cross from Viera across the face of the six put an FC Davis defender in an awkward spot and seeing him put the ball in his own net, 1-0 to Gold FC. The majority of the 1st half would be a midfield battle with little opportunities on goal, until the 41st minute when Moreno Jr. would find the back of the net off of a low driven lay off from the wing. Moreno Jr. would find the back of the net again in the 43rd minute making the score 3-0 at halftime.
The 2nd half began slow, as Gold FC seemed content with the scoreline, a majority of the match would be played in midfield until around the 60th minute when FC Davis would begin to press. Gold FC veteran goalkeeper Keko Grajeda would make a series of saves to keep the Gold on top before finally conceding in the 68th minute on a nice close range strike from Wumi. Gold FC would begin to press again and would find the back of the net in the 82nd minute off of an absolute banger of a volley from Cardona. Final whistle 4 -1 in favor of the Sacramento Gold FC.
